Sit Down for an Intimate Concert with Country Music's Greatest Legend

A pale blue Cadillac travels down a long, empty freeway. The date, December 31, 1952.
It's a lonely New Year's Eve for Hank Williams as he spends it en route to a concert in Ohio. In his solitude, he dreams about the concert he'd like to give in a small country bar like the ones passing by on the highway.
Instead, Hank Williams died in the back seat of his Cadillac that night. He was just 29 years old.
Sneezy Waters performs more than twenty of Hank's hits in the show he never gave.

What Customers Say About Hank Williams: The Show He Never Gave:

Has all the ingredients you could expect from a film about Hank - from being upbeat, foot tapping joy to entertaining to saddness and trajedy. My only regret is the CD sent to me looked a "Pirated" film copied many times over that produced a grainy, distorted and poor quality one would expect through Amazon that away some of the enjoyment away from the film.I had to send the CD back to Amazon. If you like Hank Willliams music, this is a must see.

I would buy from them again. Shipped on time and good quality. All I could ask for from a seller.

This movie is great otherwise, but many things need to be cut out, as I did, too much talking about nothing & anything, no need, few more songs needed. Many mistakes, nostalgic yea, but.Why insert so many non-sense, first you sing, you claim you dont drink, then you take break to drink, i mean it's an hour show, no need for break. The driver is some old freak, instead of 18 year old boy.Sure, it's filled with spirit & nostalgia, but that's all. When hank sings final song, when it ends, it's midnight, actually, it should have been 12:15, he was on the stage over an hour.It would be good to add his real music in the beginning, especially Lost Highway would fit introduction well.

1 star for the DVD. The DVD looks worse than my old VHS copy.I would have gladly paid more than the $6.99 price to get a reasonably good looking copy of this movie.5 stars for the content. I have loved this movie since the first time I saw it, maybe 20 years ago.I videotaped it from a C-band satellite broadcast. When I saw that Amazon was offering it as a DVD, I was elated, and ordered a copy, assuming that they would offer the best quality transfer from the original film or videotape. Unfourtunately that is not the case.

Very theatrical and done with an obvious affection. To understand the man, you have to piece all the fragments together and this video was an interesting piece. I will treasure it. There is a scarcity of material about Hank Williams out there. Not only was he a remarklable talent and a phenomenal success, his life story is fascinating.
